Breakfast/Coffee

  • Kihei Caffee - big portions, relaxed atmosphere, order at the counter and they will bring your food out, you can get loco moco here!
  • Coffee Shack - quick coffee, smoothie, bagels in the rainbow mall
  • Honolulu Coffee Company - you can walk from condo in the shops of wailea, it is down the stairs on the left right after you cross the street (right next to Tiffany's!)
  • Denny's - S. Kihei Rd, I know lame but it is on the 2nd floor and has patio seating.
  • Starbucks - for those addicted to the green circle, there is one in the Marriott, the hotel to the right of the Shops of Wailea if you are walking down from the condo

Lunch (moderate price dinners)

  • Eskimo Candy - a bit off the beaten path, take out or eat in casual, only open weekdays!
  • Da Kitchen - take out or eat in casual local Hawaiian style eats!
  • Pita Paradise - you can walk from condo up the hill, in the Wailea Gateway Center, Mediterranean style, try the fish kabobs, there is also a Kihei location
  • Monkey Pod - also up the hill in Wailea Gateway Center, they have brick oven pizza
  • Maui Thai - looking for something different try the Panang Curry w/ Fish (mahi mahi)
  • Tommy Bahamas - in the shops of wailea, there is a bar and a patio, I like the lunch menu better than dinner

Dinner (splurge, cocktails hangout)

  • Gannons - watch the sunset on the patio, or hang out at the Red Bar
  • Joe's - closest place to the condo, it is right by the entrance of Grand Champions above the tennis courts, they serve Martinis in a stemless glass! also a nice place to watch the sunset if you get the right table.
  • Capische - Italian, the lounge has Pear Manhattan Martini & Watermelon Mint Martini (just open for dinner, I've tried going a few times at lunch and it was closed)
  • Amasia - Alan Wong's restaurant in the Grand Wailea, has a sushi bar and appys if you are looking for a lighter meal, also fancy set dinners.

Grocery

  • Safeway - Pillani Highway and Piikea Avenue
  • Foodland - South Kihei Rd (local chain)
  • Times Super Market - South Kihei Rd (local chain) has "auction" fresh fish and sometimes good deals on some local brands of teas/coffees, check out the ad; also has an asian foods asile, they call it international but its really just asian :)
  • Longs - South Kihei Rd (also next to Whole Foods) - surprisingly they have a large selection of Asian grocery and a hello kitty asile at the one next to whole foods
  • Costco - as you exit the airport! great prices on local fish if you want to cook at home or a place to stop for usual costco size goods
  • Walmart - also near the airport, you can get sunscreen and other stuff you forgot or did not want to pack, plus they have a limited grocery and large selection of stuff you might want to buy to bring home to friends
  • Whole Foods - if you think its whole paycheck on the mainland you will have a new appreciation for what the islanders have to pay!
  • Farmers Markets
    • LipoaMarket (Sat 8:30AM-NOON)
    • Fruit/Veg Stand ( map across the street from movie theater on S Kihei Rd. )
    • Maui Swap Meet (Sat 7:00AM-1:00) - they also have souvienrs
